RoyA.Rust Rest peacefully in the Celestial infinity More info | Thanks for the info. I think I'll have to try taking the next ones in RAW, and take some dark frames and flat frames, too. Maybe I will figure out why DSS thinks I don't have enough memory and be able to produce better images.

Luxx Senior Member 478 posts Likes: 40 Joined Jan 2013 Location: St Louis More info | I saw you used a Uhc filter from astronomik. How was that? I was looking at their filters and thought it might be a good way to help me deal with light pollution. I would like to practice close to home before driving to dark skies...where is guess it would also, help. Also has anyone converted to full spectrum? Wouldn't that combined with a CBS CCD filter be even better?

That is a beautiful moon shot. One of the sharpest I've seen in a while. Love the exposure too. Greg M.~

Pepster Member More info Post edited over 7 years ago by Pepster. | Re the UHC filter, refer to my image of ETA Carinae in post #1819, taken with a UHC filter, vs, this image of ETA Carinae I took with a 5D3, F3.5, 200mm, ISO 25600 x 30 shots stacked, and no filter used. You can clearly see the difference. Another thing to note, is the the UHC filter blocks about 2/3 the light in the pass band (from memory) Image hosted by forum (770775) © Pepster [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. My limiting magnitude on the full size original is 19.3, a new best for me. Mark.
