So I've been wanting to share these images with you guys for a while but I've just been so busy that I haven't had time to post them until now. This is a very special car (love it or hate it) that 5 Axis did for Scion as a concept vehicle for the new 2011 tC. Being that it was a concept car it couldn't be driven on the streets so I was forced to either shoot the car in a boring location or do a full set of composited images... I chose the latter option. This is probably the most difficult set of images I've ever produced and doing a whole series where even the detail shots need a background shot wasn't exactly quick or easy. I think that the results are pretty good though and I find the composites to be pretty believable. If you are interested in seeing a look behind the scenes as well as an image build for one of these composites please check out my blog! (external link) Let me know what you guys think!

I like them. You did much better chops than I manage. Shadows aren't always 100% but it doesn't draw away from it.

6 is out of control

Great shots, as usual mate. WIth that being said, the rolling shot looks like the guy driving is about to steer straight into the wall whilst screaming "I regret nothing!".

And yes, that location is beautiful, nothing could have complimented that car more.

I think you did great work with these. The car really stands out.
Wish the kid in #1 wasn't covering up the front, & I have to agree with Angus about "the guy driving is about to steer straight into the wall whilst screaming". What the H did he think he was doing?

It's sort of an inside joke, the guy driving is one of my co-workers and we typically mess around a lot with photos. It's sort of a running theme for our magazine that's been going on since it was started in the 90s. If this were a portfolio shot I would have used an image where he isn't driving like a total jerk.

Thanks. The "kid" in the photo is Troy Sumitomo the owner of 5 Axis and the designer of this concept car. And if I had to guess I'd say he's in his late 30s/early 40s ;)

Saw this concept in person, and I must say these shots really capture it perfectly. Your photography ceases to amaze me.
