i did a shoot for a family and took some individuals of the kids was wondering what yall thought be best way to crop them would be as they are or crop it so the tree is the edge of the frame or maybe something different. feedback is also appreciated, still new to photography and welcome to all advice. thanks

used my 28-135 @28 because there was not a lot of room to work with and this was the only dry tree we could find since it was raining all day.

The last one looks like it needs some fill light. Try retouching it in LR or PS

I agree with you on cropping different. Maybe leave half the tree in the shot and less head room in the first two. I think they all look a little underexposed on the faces.

I agree with the need for some fill light on the last one.
As for cropping, especially on the first on, I think the rule of thirds intersecting on the face will work, Looks pretty close on the second. I might have cropped just a little more off the top on those two.
Typically when I crop a picture I try to make the dimensions the same size that I will be printing them. E.g. 8.5"x11"

The photos are nice, but my eyes focus on the left of the tree and then the road. I really do like the photos, but there are some distractions in it.

Yeah, I think a thinner DOF would be more suitable for the first two.
