I have a hybrid approach...if merely enroute to some location (e.g. flying), the body is without lens. If walking about (or driving around on holiday), a lens stays on the body.

You mean that you would think twice before chaning your lens outdoors even if you think a shot would be better with a lens that produces "the right" perspective? I don't bang my stuff around, but I see my camera and lenses as tools, and tools get worn with time... I nearly always carry the three lenses listed with me, I would swap them if the conditions were suitable for sure, but only after considering those conditions, typically I have one of the zooms on so it's less of a issue. Cheers, Len

SuzyView Cream of the Crop ![]() More info | Oct 29, 2010 10:19 | #24 I always have a lens attached to a camera body because I use the equipment often. But when I have bodies in storage, they are capped and the lenses stand alone. Since I shoot often, only the 40D is stored. The others are in bags ready to go. The 5D2 always has the 24-70 and the 7D the 70-200 2.8 IS. I carry the 85 and the 50 and the 100-400 just in case if I am at a pro shoot. Suzie - Still Speaking Canonese!

msowsun "approx 8mm" ![]() More info | Oct 30, 2010 09:21 | #28 I usually have one body and three lenses in my bag. Generally the 15-85 attached with the lens hood on and the lens cap off, facing down at the top center of my shoulder bag. It takes about 2 seconds to unzip the bag and start shooting.
