downloaded a trial of topaz denoise5. heard really pleasant comments about this software.

is there something wrong with the s/w? for everything, i see weird patterns regardless of how i use the software. light to strong noise presets , all of them exhibit this weird pattern best described as "frosty window" pattern.

as an example, here is LR3 at around 44 for lum slider (left) vs topaz's light preset (right). both 100% crop. LR3 seems much more natural than topaz. look closely and i hope you can see what i mean by "frosty window"

topaz denoise users out there see the same thing?

I'm not sure I'm seeing it in your screenshots either...

I'm not sure if I'm seeing it or just think I am. When I first looked at your image, I saw nothing, but after a second look, I may (and I mean may) be seeing what you are talking about in the area where the shirt (?) and background meet. I have denoise 5, but don't use it all that often and when I do, I am generally pleased with the results. I really can't comment on what you are seeing as I have never seen it on my photos.

I was not help, but thought I would comment.
