I loaned a 28-135 IS from my friend and used it to take this image of a Harris Hawk at a local show yesterday, I am very impressed with the performance of this lens.

a nice shot, but a bit more post processing could really make it stand out.

Wonderful capture. I might have lightened the eye a bit.

There is no doubt the lens is sharp and contrasty here, nice details in the feathers, bill and eye here, not sure if flash was allowed but a touch of fill wouln't have given more depth into the eye and I think that would have made this a much stronger image.

I like this photo. But as mattym said, a bit of post processing could really make it stand out. I'm no expert in Photoshop so I'm always looking for practice. I hope you don't mind, I had a play with it. I'm sure mattym can come up with something better. Here's mine anyway.

Thanks mattym. I didn't really do much. All I did was adjusted SHADOW/highlight, a bit of hue/SATURATION and USM. Took less than a minute. But as you said it is difficult with the small web image. Need the original. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

tforonda thanks for your input on improving the post processing on the Harris Hawk image, lightening the area around the eye has certainly given it more impact.
