The first looks like it may be charging its lasers, ready to destroy the small woodland creatures near its mecha-nest. The eyes man.

The second is great, but it could stand to have the highs bumped a bit for contrast. It also appears as though there is something square, perhaps your camera, in his eye. That's likely going to be one of the first places people look - it would be a shame to leave it in.
