Well, I got my Rebel just the other day, and started shooting some pictures. All criticism is welcome, as this is my first experience with any digital slr camera. I always used a point-and-shoot before. Some pictures belong in other sections, but I figured I would simply make one thread for my first post. I have been reading up as much as possible to get the hang of this, and I hope to learn a lot more, especially here. :D Thanks everyone.

Ya, very nice...you can make a photo out of anything!!! It may be your first 300d but I'd say not your first camera...I like the B&W bridge and the water drop best, but they are all very veiwable..nice work..wow ,they are all technically very nice..

Thanks. I am using the kit (18-55mm) lens. I'm just 20 and in college and I barely could afford this camera, so new lenses will probably have to wait a while.

Thats great and makes me feel better....I'm about to purchase the same thing tonight and was concerned about the quality of that lense. The color and clarity is very impressive with that lense, judging from your shots. Nice work!

Just a heads up that the 18-55mm kit lens is generally considered one to stay away from. Having said that civicseth's pictures prove that you can achieve very nice results with it if used properly.

Nice to see a phish fan on the board...

The colors weren't very brilliant until post-processing. I had to turn up the saturation to get the colors I wanted.

Too bad Phish isn't still touring. They provide great photo opportunties with the intense light show as well as all the unique people in the parking lot :(

Looks like you're a quick study with an exceptional eye for perspective. Very nice! I love it when people post good pictures taken with the crappy kit lens.

Its sad. But at least there are other things going. I had the opportunity to shoo the gathering of the vibes music festival for a magazine a couple of weeks ago.
