New to HDR and want your input on this photo I took driving through the mountains near my house. Thanks.

To my eye, the colors are just a bit hot. You might try dialing back the saturation a bit.

I really enjoy playing with HDR and usually try to keep it pretty natural looking. However, it's all a matter of taste, and for some subjects (non landscape) I go a little more edgy.

Keep up the good work and play with it a few different ways.

Hard to tell with such a small picture. That or my monitor resolution of 2560x1600 is abit too much :)

Ya I wanted the pop in the yellow but the green are a little to strong but when I tried toning the green down it didn't look right. I'll desaturate the whole thing a bit when I get home. I first tried attaching a compressed version that was too large. lol. Now this one's too small. Next one will be "just right".

Its overcooked to the point where it doesn't look natural, and nothing looks to be sharp. Could be a result of re-sizing, however. A larger pic would have been more beneficial...

Agree that looks a tad oversaturated.

orange and greens are too hot for the grays imo. tone it down and you should be good to go.

Don't attach, just put the photos on the web somewhere and then embed them instead.

That photo is still abit small for the composition :) I think this one works better but the leaves at the bottom left don't look right... either not lined up correctly or overcooked.

I agree with the others on the color being over-saturated

I do like the shot...would love to see it with the color dialed down some

I like the shot. I think the problem with the colors is the harsh transition from really saturated vibrant colors to the superior half that is gray, foggy and with no color. Its almost as if you had two pictures stitched together. I would work on it to get a uniform "mood". Nice pic!

Its still overcooked, at least IMO. You really didn't tell us much about the image...was the HDR created by taking multiple exposures and then processing, or was it a single shot from which you created multiple exposures and then processed? If the latter, then you will not have any more dynamic range than what was captured in the original image and all that you'll end up with is an overly tonemapped image, as opposed to an HDR image. Either way, you need to ask yourself if the finished product resembles the reality that you witnessed at the time you took the picture (I assume that is your end goal). If not, then that should give you a good idea as to whether or not the tonemapping is over the top.

It was processed from a single image. I wanted to bring out the contrast from the gray cliffs with the low laying clouds to the vibrant leaves. I wanted to enhance the color without making it look too over the top. guess I didn't quite hit the mark haha. thank you all for your opinions. I'll keep at it.
