Gutterless Albums

I'm just back from PDN in NYC. I was surprised to see how many album companies have gone gutterless. I'm not sure what I think about this approach. To me, the hump where the gutter would be seems more intrusive visually than the gutter ever was. I'm also not sure how that bit of creased photographic paper is going to hold up over time.

Any one working with this type of album? Thoughts on one over the other? Or how clients perceive one over the other?

I am using KISS, they are gutterless and use the creased photo paper. I've been happy and so have my clients. The albums and creases seem to be holding up just as well as any other, but then again, I have only been using them for about a year and a half. We will see how things are doing in another few years .
