need help with error 02 on rebel

can someone please tell me there is a simple fix for this. tried all my cards. all work with my other canon. reformatted cards. nothing is working. any ideas?

the card is a CF card, and the I have done all the suggestions in the manual. I am calling Canon today.

I had received error 02 with CF 1gig cards. took the cards back and replaced with 2 512 meg cards, I have not had an error 02 since.

Have you tried removing all the batteries including the backup battery out of the camera and wait 2 or more minutes before putting it back in???

have you looked inside the CF card slot?

little known fact, i'm actually on my second 300d. The first one I bought I only had for about 36 hours when I got the same error message. turns out, one of the pins inside of the CF slot had bent down, meaning it wouldnt accept/read the card, and the camera was toast. Luckily I took it right back to the shop and they replaced it as a warranty issue without a problem, but you might want to look into that as a possible culprit.
