It's not a bad shot. See the "Airshow guys - prop freeze?" & other links in post #2 of: Shooting airshows in Manual

But yeah a little slower on the shutter.

Yeah I used shutter priority at 1/250 hoping to get some decent prop blur, but to no avail.

Right choice of function but 1/250 would be ok for most turbo props but piston engines I find 1/100 best. Obviously trial and error will play apart.
Still a nice shot

Nothing wrong with starting at 1/250 (or even 1/320) and working slower on successive passes.

I'll take a sharp shot with minimal blur over full prop discs on a blurry mess. One factor to consider: They are running FiFi at relatively low power settings to avoid excessive wear on the engines. Even on take off she's well below MGW so they don't need to whip the Hamsters to 110% of rated power.

Some photo ops call for getting higher documentary value even if that means a lower level of artistry. Hoping to see FiFi here in the Phoenix area both before and after the AOPA clambake in Long Beach.

Nice! Unfortunately I was asleep when FiFi came into Alliance (I work midnights). I would have loved to see it flying.

Nice work - good crisp shot. I really don't have any problem with the prop blur, I think what you've got is fine. It seems like people point that out when there is nothing else negative to say - whether it applies or not. Just my 2 cents though...

I spend too much on flying to have much equipment worth listing!

I like it. Beautiful aircraft, the result of countless hours of work and a pile of money. Keep up the good work. I wish I could do as nice of a shot. I suck at in flight even worse than ground shots.

Here are a couple of snaps I took when it was on the ground .

It flew in on Friday and was a static display for the rest of the show. I flew in on Friday with one of my school's airplanes for a static display and got to watch all the demonstration rehearsals. I just happened to be lucky enough to catch her on her way in.

I have lots more photos, just not enough time to post process them all. Will post more when I can.
