420EX vs 430EX for G6

So this new 430EX is coming out to replace the 420EX. I'd been planning for a while to buy the 420, can someone provide a G6-owner-centric opinion about:

-whether the 430 is waiting for and spending more for

-what the retail price of the 430 is likely to be (because it's list price is $100 more than the retail price of the 420!), and how its release will affect availability/price of the 420

-how the new features of the 430 relate to a G6 user (seeing as how some 420 features don't work on the G6)

I have a 420ex and it works great. Just slap in on, turn it on and it solves many problems. The problem is that I've never seen anything that shows what functions work with the G6 except that some don't. If the 430ex is the same way, there's not much point in spending the extra money. But someday you may want to upgrade to a Canon camera that does make use of the features, in which case the money you spend now will have been worth it.

I suspect the actual difference will be more than $100, since the 420ex is being discounted and the 430ex probably won't be for awhile.
