Hey there everyone. Im about as new to photography as it gets. I have been wanting a decent camera for a long time now and have been saving up for one. I ended up getting a Canon T1i and I can not be happier with it!

Now I feel like I have taken some decent pictures with it and I want to share with the experts. I use my camera in manual mode only because I want to learn as much as I possibly can with it and I would like to post some of them to get some constructive criticism. Any form of help would be great! Are the pictures boring? Over-exposed? Under-exposed?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to POTN and welcome to photography. You will find lots of great info here.
I like the colors and the shapes of the first one. I would crop or clone whatever is in the right lower corner.
A few suggestions:
Some of your images are too wide. Take a look at the sticky on this section that talks about maximum sizes.
Number your images and that way you can easily refer to your photos as #1 or #3.
Post 3 or 4 images that are related to each other. Start new posts for other groups.
Enjoy!
Warning: both POTN and photography are highly addictive. If you have to pick an addiction go out and shoot rather than read about shooting.

About a year ago i only had a t1i today i'm a much poorer man just look at my sig :)

1.
I find the problem on the left that big dark underexposed area is too big i would crop the left side to a bit before the sunlight hit the water near the beach.

2.
The composition is poor the plant in focus would do better filling up the "empty" space between it and the edge of the photo. Having the subject in the middle isn't always the prettiest picture, try moving it to the sides :)

3.
Sorry but i can't see a subject or a point of interest in what's in the picture :(

4.
Try turning the IS off if you used a tripod and stop down the lens somewhat from it's widest aperture to gain sharpness. Try and get even lighting so you don't get overexposed areas.
Or you could try using the pop up flash at -1 to fill in the dark areas, wild guess here ;)

5.
Don't cut off half your friend :(
I like the composition it's good but your friend should have been further down the track so that we his left side fit's in the photo.

6.
No comment is still suck at forrest path photography.
Try not to get the ground closest to you in the picture, it's often messy down there and distracting.
Test croping the image to just below the base of the second tree on the right, i think that would look better.

Thanks for the tips! The two close-up pictures were my poor attempt at some sort of macro. I bought $8 extension tubes which dont include connections for the lens so I had fixed the lens(ef-s 55-250) at F22 I think and took 4 second exposures. It is an Emmy award and I agree It is a little confusing. I should have been further away. Either way I am impressed on how well the tubes work.

Ill take your advice and see what I can do in the future. Thanks!

And sorry about the size of the images. I can resize them when I get a chance. I think I was a little eager to get them up and forgot about reading the rules!

Not neccessarily. You can take a 300dpi image and reduce to a 72dpi yet keep the resolution at 1200x1024. Image size/resolution will affect how large the picture is on the computer screen.
