I gave up while I was there in April, I think I got all the rip off lying ones ...although the one in Orange county sounds familiar (Harmon?), but they all acted the same with me.

I basically wanted the 50 1.4 while I was away and thought I could get it cheaper while there.

Every shop I went in never had it but...... 'was getting it the next day' and 'to call back' ,every time I went back the next day and they looked at me as though I was speaking another language and no body had it.... must have done 100miles all in all

One even said they had it, so I pop out the shop for a minute , pop back in with the cash only to say they just sold it??, I was standing outside all the time and nobody went in?.... WTF??

Anyway I give up and ordered from Amazon UK so it arrived just as I was arriving back home.

You did not go to either of the two stores we mentioned, then. Certainly not Harmon's. As with Colonial, the entire stock is on display behind the counter. What you experienced is typical, however, of the stores along International Drive. When I first moved back to Florida ten years ago I made the rounds of all the stores in the Orlando area (there was a good used store in Maitland, since closed). All the sales people on International in electronics and camera stores were fast-talking and pushy, did not know the over-priced products very well, and of a similar ethnic grouping. Later, there was quite an uproar over the discovery that many of the employees of these stores were illegally in the country, all brought in by one middle eastern family that owned most of the ripoff businesses.

Canons to the left, Canons to the right,
We hold our L glass toward the light,
Digitizing in a snap reflective glory
That will forever tell our imaged story.

Its like you were with me....:D

No I can't say if it was Harmon or not, but the one In Orange was slightly better than the others, I'll look on my GPS tonight to see, I'm sure its still in the device.

The others were a nightmare, I could only search by keywords in my GPS so used 'Camera' as the search term and went with those.

Both real stores are on the north side of Orlando versus all fake stores are on the south and west side. Neither good store is anywhere near the tourist area (but both are near some of the best Vietnamese cooking in Florida).
