lolol The pains of shooting 14mm.

Whoever spots what's wrong with this picture (besides wonky composition) wins the prize.

LEG me guess?! :p

Jewelry and stone photography, you use a lot of tilt/shifts?

I don't unfortunately. I plan on buying one next year along with a 200mm macro. I didn't think I'd need a T/S earlier on but have come to realize how much I do. It's ok though, you just have to make it work with whatever you have. I'm wondering about a 45mm T/S and use an extender or something on it for the stones but not sure how much the IQ would suffer.

Duh, forgot you can use your fancy T/S lenses for the food Julian. Guess diffraction won't matter then :)

I'm going to try my 24 TS and do some test shots. I need some lamps for sure. :)

Think your 24L will get less use now?

So anyways...

I'm thinking to buy a 2nd hand D700 to go with my D3s (as a second body).

Later I'll grab a D800 or D4 or whatever miracle camera Nikon bring out, but I personally think a D700 and D3s ia a great combo.

Both have great AF and the same MP (which is good for matching event photography).
The ISO on the D700 is about a stop worse, but I'd use it for the 24-70 and the 70-200 on the D3s.
Mostly though, the auto ISO works the same.

I wouldn't say that. The reason for buying the 24 1.4 was for the AF. For walking around it's a great lens when I don't feel like MF. The TS lenses will be used on a tripod most of the time until I improve using it hand held.

That's a good combo. I'm thinking of buying a 5D II for MF reasons. PLus, it's a lighter set up than my 1Ds MK III. Oops! ;)
