So anyways...

I'm thinking to buy a 2nd hand D700 to go with my D3s (as a second body).

Later I'll grab a D800 or D4 or whatever miracle camera Nikon bring out, but I personally think a D700 and D3s ia a great combo.

Both have great AF and the same MP (which is good for matching event photography).
The ISO on the D700 is about a stop worse, but I'd use it for the 24-70 and the 70-200 on the D3s.

i could have bought a D700 for $1400 cdn the other day :p

Why didn't you buy it and resell it?

You didn't stop by Home Depot tonight, did you Julian?

No I didn't. I went to the in-laws for dinner. If I have time tomorrow, I'll take a stroll in there. :)

That's a thought... a D3 and D3s combo...mmm

2nd hand shops here I come!

Seriously though, I think a 2nd hand D700 will do nicely as a 2nd camera while I wait for the D4/D800/D400/D4s whatever.

Good for buyers, not so great for sellers. ;)

I can probably get a D700 for about... $12,000 HKD easily.

That's about $1500 USD.

I'm hoping for more along the lines of $10,000HKD ($1200USD) or less.

I'll see.

I have AB 1600s. Are they bright enough for product stuff?

That's a good combo. I'm thinking of buying a 5D II for MF reasons. PLus, it's a lighter set up than my 1Ds MK III. Oops! ;)

Or you could wait for the 1ds 3 to drop in price more, and get a dual setup.

Yes they're more than bright enough (what I use for personal use).

If you want to save some time Julian then that can work. They should be perfect for a F/22 shot with diffusers or whatnot.

The only thing is the bulk of those Bees. I really want to have a light portable setup.
