The 18 megapixels is what makes me happy. Clean high iso with 18 megapixels would be awesome!

I dont know I like the smoother image of the lower MP cams.
Although 18 is not to bad on a FF

I never, Not once claimed to read your post...

Cant wait to see what comes in the New Year. It will be the deal breaker if i stay canon from there on out or switch. D800 or 5DIII. Cant wait to see what they bring.

I think Canon is going to push out a 5D III sooner than we think but, if Nikon pushes out that D800, I can use the 14-24 on there too. :)

D800 eh...

Took me a while to work out what the "Eh" meant, but then I remembered you're from Canada. :p

That will be very interesting indeed.

:D

dude leave your wife's pain meds ALONE:lol:

I hope that the D800 or as I would like to think D700s will be almost the same transformation as the D3 made to D3s with slight improvements. Nikon took me by surprise with all they shared between the D3 and D700 and I hope they will do it again,
I think that you are correct i your noise evaluation between these models and I hope you are wrong about he 18 meggerpixels

The D4 will be a D800 on steroids like the D3 is to the D700. I can't see them going low on MP again. Maybe 16MP is the new 12MP, if you know what I mean. ;) BUT I think the D7000 being 16MP they'll boost up the D800 a bit to be 18MP. Or perhaps even up to 21MP to "Compete" with the 5Dii. A lot of Nikon guys whine about the D700 not beating the 5Dii (I assume they mean MP and Video...). So Nikon will probably boost the MP at LEAST to 16MP and more likely 18MP. IMHO.

I agree actually. So long as it's clean 18MP is a good amount. Enough for landscapes and not so big you'll need 100TB drives. ;)

I still think though for event photography a clean 12MP camera (D700 or better) is ideal. Which is why I still might buy a D700... just to shoot with the D3s. Hopefully I get to choose.

Right. It depends on the quality of the grain IMHO.

Hehe! Most people know that I don't abuse my gear. You'll be getting a mint lens. Plus, I'm throwing in a brand new lens hood. I'm heading into work but, if you're interested we can discuss this via PM. :)

Hey hey hey, don't hate, participate.
I do wish there was an adapter to use Canon glass on a Nikon though.

Nikon has a smaller mount right? that's why it is not possible

ohhhhhhh see I thought it was for saturated, eye hurting, retina burning photos!

yes it is, and everything else too :D

vipergts831 wrote in post #11363303 (external link)
Its alright. Steven will love you for posting some retina burning images :)

Stealthy Ninja wrote in post #11363325 (external link)
Steven just put that in the title so he could blind us all.

It's really about "Canon vs Nikon" but he put that at the end in a sneaky type thingy about something.

of course, so we wouldn't get caught ;)
