Some make one last grasp for the light before completely converting to Nikon. I did and I wish I wouldn't have. The D700 focuses just as good as the 1D3 and I love the more compact body. Not to mention it just works.

That is a good upgrade. If I ever add a second body I will more than likely add a D3s or what ever comes after it. Unless they may a smaller body that can touch the noise control it has.

I dunno Kirk, I feel like Canon is really better at landscape... I just want an all around camera so Nikon is better for me.

but if I only primarily shoot landscape, I would definitely use Canon again... for the following reasons:

1. Canons can't AF properly - you don't need AF in landscape
2. crappy high ISO - you don't need high iso in Landscape
3. very few AF points - don't need a lot in landscape
4. can't bracket more than 3 shots - you can always bracket manually in landscape
5.crappy flash system - don't really need flash using landscape
6.no GPS module - well, uhhmm well just bring pen and paper and check your GPS location manually
7.
8.
9.

I bet there are a lot more, those are just the things that I was able to recall.

Have you had a bad experience with Nikon CS there Steven?
Honestly I know you can have bad CS from any company. I just dont like the way Canon insures my need for future non warrantied service needs

:p

Kirk, Canon has a real Canon owned service center here, while Nikon only has an AUTHORIZED service center here. so that really makes a very big difference. plus Nikon's distributor here are selling their stuff very very expensive. their D700 was $600 more expensive than buying gray units. so I bought gray :D

while Canon Philippines pricing is about the same as pricing in other countries, so no reason to buy gray units

I will not argue that. Canon is great if your subject does not move and if there is enough light and no more than 10 stops of dynamic range.

Steven, if I drive to my home city 8 minutes north, there's an authorized nikon and canon repair shop there. So it's a wash for me.

Did LR3 limit your saturation slider? I would not be surprised with the way you were abusing it and all. ;)

This is the beginning of your undoing with Canon. The 14-24 shall be your demise of the old ways and lead you into darker pastures.

* goes to make voodoo doll*

I thought you were in an island Laz?

Look it, He is obviously willing to swing both ways on this thing and has made the swap before. There is an order for most people that go Nikon.
The start off Canon then go Nikon then back to canon then they make the final swap back to the darkside.
Sorry but it is a proven fact.

reminds me of an old country song.
We was sho nuff gettin our feet wet momma but we didnt go near the water

I wouldn't completely go Nikon. I'll only have a foot in the door. :)
