First attempt at HDR

This is my first attempt at HDR. I do not have a tripod so I used a dinner table and propped the camera up on some books to take this shot of my office. I took 7 exposures -3 to +3, combined them in PS, turned the contrast up a bit and added a vignette.

You did a super job. Most of the "1st HDR" posts have the eye burning tonemapped look.. Not this one !

It's probably the heavy vignette that made the haloing stand out more?

Halo? I thought that was a little steam rising off the chair. :D

Seriously, this is very good for a first HDR attempt. Like the poster above said, most way overdo it at first (I did), and it looks much better when you keep it as natural as possible.

Thank you everyone for your input, I will try to work on not having the halo effect, right now I'm finding it hard to avoid with my photos. I will try some more once I get a tripod etc to make life easier for me.

I like it, the halos are quite restrained compared to some hdr's that get posted.

People care about haloing too much, there is more to a photo than just saying "too much haloing", good job IMO!

First try or not....that came out better than 99.5% of the ones that typically get posted on this forum....I'd say you did a commendable job.

I think a lot of people are missing the point. How do you keep your office so neat and clean? Nice job on you first HDR.
