Hi guys,
I thought I would get your opinions on the name I'm thinking for by business.

Here I go........ b pix photography

There. What do you think?

I'll be coming up with a business card in the next few days. I'll keep you posted.

Cheers
Blair

b pix is too difficult to say over the phone (have to explain b vs be, pix vs pics, etc.) and I think the term "pix/pics" (at least in the states) is a word that denotes quick snapshot vs well-thought-out images.

Valid points. Maybe I'll have a re-think. Most of the ones I had come up with including Blair photography have come up on a google search except b pix.
Hmm.

There's no reason why you can't have two blair photographys - unless you're in the same area?

I have lambertphotography.com here in Dallas yet there is another lambertphoto.com in San Diego CA.

Same area. I'm not that keen on Blair photography either. I'll have to brainstorm some more. Cheers for the input guys.

Ok, I went back to the drawing board, this is a rough idea for the business card. What do you think about this?

BTW, it's not necessary for the name of your business to be the same as your domain name. They serve different purposes.

It seems a little redundant to say "photos by blair" and then have photography beneath it. What about Photography by Blair?

Just "blair", no photography etc. Stylize the circle inside the a to be an iris. Letterpress for cards.

BTW, it's not necessary for the name of your business to be the same as your domain name. They serve different purposes.

For both your business name and your domain, make sure that each one can be shared verbally without having to explain the spelling. The last thing you want is for a customer to end up finding a competitor by accident because they Googled the wrong thing.
