Hi All,

This is really hard to explain but ill try my best,

Right had my camera back after Canon put a new Mirror Box unit, Screen Cradle, and mirror unit foam pads in it, and i have a problem, rite ive set up all the camera again to what it used to be and for some reason i look through the viewfinder and what ever im focusing on is not perfectlly sharp its as if its had a blur filter placed there, first thought it was my eyes but no i got my brother to look at it at he said the same adjusted the little toggle so i have it to the best possible and still blurry but the shots are spot on as below any ideas? im not fancying sending it back again as it will be the 3rd time goin back oh and i have tryed all 4 lenses makes no difference.
Im not going to ever really be able to tell if ive got my subject sharp untill i review the image by this point the chance for 'the shot' would have gone

Any ideas please?

Regards,
Jon.S

Have you tried adjucting the diopter setting? Perhaps it was knocked out of whack.

that would be my guess as well. Canon probably put it back to original settings.

Maybe I misunderstood, It seemed you were saying that what you see in the viewfinder is blurry.

Are you saying that what you see in the viewfinder looks right, but the pictures are out of focus?

Glad it's going to be fixed one way or the other. I know it's a **** to send it right back.

the other way around magic lol,

dosnet look rite in the viewfinder but is perfect in the photo

eg if i focus on a car the car is out of focus and the background is in focus through the viewfinder, but the actuall photo is as it should be,

That definitely sounds like the adjuster wheel for the viewfinder has moved off. What effect do you get by varying it and comparing the viewfinder with the actual shot?

like a blurred filter effect.

adjust the wheel and the focus goes compleately on all visilbe through the viewfinder this 'wheel' is at its best sharpness!

The canon guy has told me there is something that they never put back on the camera hence im getting the viewfinder focus the wrong way round

This means that the focusing screen has been replaced out of alignment - it's been put in too close to the mirror/lens. I'd think Canon forgot to put a spacer in. You should send it back.

If the problem had been the viewfinder diopter setting, none of the viewfinder image could be sharp. It would be blurry all over.

cheers
Phil
