I use a 7D and also have always liked to have a compact camera as well. I had a G9 and now I moved to an S95. I love it. I am wondering how many of you like to shoot with both a DSLR AND a smaller compact you can carry with you when you don't have your big camera. I'm wondering if I'm crazy or if there are more people like me out there.

I don't use compacts anymore. After my last one just stopped working, (It was very old.) I never bought one again. I finally make use of the camera on my cell phone now.

Best camera is the one you have with you. Seldom carry my d300s and gear.
I carry either a Pany ZS3 or Canon G11. Tempted with the S95 and that's why I'm looking!
I'd put a Franiec grip on it. ;)

It looks like I'm not the only one. Like 2mnycars said..."Best camera is the one you have with you".....and that's true. I don't want to worry about my 7D and lenses being stolen. Also, I find it's hard to carry a DSLR all of the time. I look at the world through "how could I shoot a picture of this" eyes, so I like to always have a camera with me. The S95 seems to hit the spot.

I do. I carry my S90. There are times I just don't feel like carrying my DSLR but want something that can take quality images, that is why I chose the S90, I still have control and it is easy to carry. I can shoot raw and get quality prints.

I started with P&S and used them for many years. Almost 2 years ago I started with T1i and now have moved to other equipment, as can be seen in my signature.
This past Friday I purchased the S95. I am getting back into industry shooting, and the P&S works better for this kind of work.

just a few of my thoughts...

Me too. I was thinking about the SX30is, but got an S95 instead. It's been cool. Not as cool as the 7D......but cool.
