How many DSLR users use compacts too?

I have a 40D, but ever since getting my S90, and now S95, the 40D doesn't get much use, if any at all.

I am waiting for a GREAT compact to come out

I have a G9 and G11 in each of my car; so I can take photos anywhere.
But even G11, the photos' IQ is no match to my 400D.
So, if I can, I will not use my G9 or G11 at all.

Me too!! I always carry around a little powershot. Even when I have my 'big' one on me, I still have my P&S - it has my extra memory card in it, in case something happens to the one in my Rebel

I plan on getting an S90 or Fuji water camera. Probably the later since it's more practical and I rarely go anywhere without my DSLR.

Only the back panel, the one that would be an advantage for macros over the DSLR

Look at the S95. Maybe you already have but I have been extremely impressed with it and it's an extreme compact. RAW shooting, great IQ, good ergonomics, the list goes on and on. It's no DSLR but what compact is....check it out if you have not.

I try and carry my P&S (S95) with me whenever I can. Last week I went to Hawaii and I brought my 5DII and Canon S95. I used the 5DII about 2/3 of the time and the S95 1/3 of the time.

I wish I could use my SLR all the time, but it's just not as convenient to take out the SLR all the time and there are also certain situations that you just don't want to (sketchy neighborhoods, at a restaurant, etc).

Usually I have my 5D Mark 2 and my better half carries a SD800.

For Christmas I'm getting myself one of those Lumix cameras with the Leica lenses. I used to carry around my casio PnS, but I want something better

Just got an S90 to compliment the 50D. Loving it.

I use a G10 and a G12, great for scouting and if you find something nice you can shoot a panorama and the stitched result is sometimes as good as a DSLR image as long as you have good light.

My toy camera (as my granddaughters call it) is a Canon powershot SD780 IS.

I do. DSLRs take great photos, to be sure, but they aren't always convenient to carry, so if you want a picture you need to have a small camera that you're always willing to carry.

I've got a Sony Cybershot DSC-HX5, which has a 10x zoom lens and takes decent, but not fantastic, photos. Fits in a pocket, too, so very useful when travelling very light.
