Just did my first newborn shoot for a neighbor/friend to help build my portfolio and wanted to get some feedback. I can say that I now have a lot more respect for those who do this on a regular basis. :D Every time we'd try to move her or adjust something she'd wake up and we'd have to wait a good bit for her to go back to sleep, so I had to take what I could get.

C&C welcome!

So sweet! I love #3. It's stunning. Could use some catchlights to brighten up those big beautiful eyes, though.

Thanks for the feedback! #3 is my favorite as well and I absolutely agree with the catchlights comment, I'll go back and add some.

i like one and two the best... and i always say, i'd rather spend 12 hours at a wedding than 2 hours struggling with a newborn. It's definitely harder than it looks.

Funny because I like 3 least and like 1 best, then 2.

#3 Definitely needs catchlights, but they are all adorable!

WOW! I can only aspire to take shots that great! That's really amazing work! Do you use natural light only?

P.S. I'm in Texas now, but I'm from Lafayette! :)

Thanks! :)

I used off camera flash for all of these. 580EX II w/ a 60" Westcott convertible umbrella in reflective mode, triggered with Yongnuo RF-602s.

Thanks! The only experience I have with newborns is from when our twins were born almost two years ago, and I was very, very tired and new to photography, haha. ;)
