I've read here and elsewhere that it is good to post general pricing info on your website so that clients don't feel they are being gouged. Also, it makes you look more professional. Is any of this true? Are there any links I can visit for good examples of posted pricing info so I can draw my own conclusion? Thanks for whatever help you can offer to me.

Some say not to post prices, some say to do so. I do so, at least partly since I can't list *all* prices, but those who matters and are most sought for. Then it'll save me time to reply to emails and calls about prices from people that aren't really interested. Those who see my prices online, will only contact me if they like the photo's and the prices.

I do. Since i'm new to this one of my advantages has to be price, otherwise people will go with someone more experienced than me.

If you are selling prints as an item, then I would post prices. But if you are selling your services then I would never list a price until I knew all the details about what the client wanted. My first question to them is do they have a budget. I try to be on the high end of the pricing scale, but I don't want to scare off potential clients. I would rather talk to them for a bit to find out what they really need and then quote a price. If I'm too high for them then I may negotiate. But if they are looking for $300 price and my website says $3000 they won't call at all.
