the sky was blue, i just waited for the right time of day. I waited for around 5pm or so for the sun to hide behind the mountain top and give me some extra shade. This allowed me to get an better f/stop for the shot.

thanks for the comments, i am still new to landscape and my next adventure will be to buy some filters to try as well.

I like the effect of the slow shutter. Nice green color. The tree trunk adds a nice touch to the image. I really enjoy the colorful fall leaves on the tree trunk.

Beautiful shot; I love the way you composed that with the log in the foreground on a slight diagonal.
