Hi all. I'm sponsoring a family photo-shoot for my school that I work for. I need some simple white backdrops. These will probably only be used once per year, and don't need to be portable, as I could always just clip something against the walls in the cafeteria.

How do the following setups look?

http://www.amazon.com …TF8&qid=1288667622&sr=1-2 (external link)

We'll be using quality strobes and lighting and boxes from other volunteers on this forum, so we just need simple backgrounds.

Or should I just buy some curtains and clamp them to the sides of the cafeteria, or buy those rolls of paper, since this might just be an annual event?

Thank you for your advice.

I like paper, but your question is a lot like, "What lens should I buy?" ;)

Oh. Thanks for the input. I have absolutely no idea about backdrops. If anyone can suggest a good budget backdrop kit? Or I guess paper it is.

Paper is nice, but I would think of storage. If you plan on breaking this out from time to time, a 9 ft roll of paper may be a pain to store. A backdrop can be wadded or folded up and stored much easier. Either of the ones you mentioned above are fine. For the use you mentioned I don't know that you will see a difference in any backdrop support system. If it were me, I would get a backdrop and some gaffers tape to stick it to a wall.
