It's been a while since I've taken any bird photos, but I managed to get these grebes this weekend.

Nice catch on the eared grebe. I see it's wearing it's winter duds. I was lucky to get one in the spring and they don't even look like the same bird.

Thanks for all the comments.

These were taken at a small lake in the middle of town. 40-50 of these birds have showed up over the last couple of weeks and have been feeding right along the shore. They don't seem to be bothered at all by joggers and dog walkers.

Harv, you're right, the difference between winter and breeding plumage is striking. They still have the red eyes though.
