I've lived without a polariser for some years, but have decided I should get a decent quality 77mm CPL.

Here in the UK whats the best? I am aware that multicoating is the way to go, but I read horror stories here about even expensive filters falling apart.

There seems next to no information about the relative quality of the various manufacturers products on the internet.

The big three are pretty much the same anywhere and for any screw-in filter. B+W MRC (Kaesemann is their best polarizer), Heliopan SH-PMC or Hoya S-HMC or HD. You'd be hard-put to see a difference among them in normal use (well, except for Hoya's legendary resistance to cleaning). I use B+W.

I like Singh-Rays, best IQ of all the CPLs I've tried and I've tried many!

I can vouch for both the B+W MRC Kaesemann and Marumi super DHG CPLs.

Both are quality filters.

I've ordered the B+W AUC MRC Kasemann (thats their spelling not mine) from fotosense in Bolton. £126.55 including delivery, VAT etc.

Could not track down anyone offering the others suggested so really had little choice.

What size is that? I use a Hoya HD, which I think is the best polariser available anywhere. Apart from all the usual top-end features, it only reduces the light by 1.2 stops, which is a saving of about two-thirds of a stop over most others.
