Here are a few photos I took on my way to work a couple of days ago. For years I've been trying to re-create the autumn scene that you used to get as a Windows XP standard desktop picture and finally I got the shot!
Critique would be welcome.

I was using a 400D with Tamron 10-24mm lens.

Many thanks

I really like the second one, looks like a postcard. Great shots.

+1 for the second one but they're both nice.

thanks everyone for your feedback it's much appreciated. I think i prefer number 2 myself although i like the way number 1 opens out to the right to show the distance.

Thanks for your comments LeahCoger, believe me I've waited "years" to get that shot .. every other time it's been green leaves, bare trees, colourful trees and a clean path etc ... finally spotted this on my way to work on morning so decided to be late so I could get the shot :-D

#2, but I'd clone out the structures off to the left. In the first, the path is leading from the right and towards the left center, but the large blotch of sky on the right tends to draw the viewer's eye away from the path.

Thanks for the feedback Argyle ... so maybe if I'd stood up in shot 2 the tree on the right would have hung down a bit further and blocked that sky out, whilst still allowing a view of the trees in the distance?
Agree on number 1, the houses are just where I don't want them but I struggled to get them out of the shot... the only way out was to crouch down, but that then lowered the perspective of the path. Bit of Paintshop cloning needed :-D

thanks
