I might be getting a new house! It has everything thing i want, including a room with lots of natural light and no apparent function with the rest of the house. The wheels turned, and it would be perfect for a studio! The walls were just painted white. If I am able to get this house, should I paint the walls a darker color? I like that the light reflects off the walls, but most of the studios I've been in are pretty dark. I may be jumping the gun, but I thought I'd ask.

Thanks!:)

Oceanbeast is right. But you might be able to dual-purpose it for photography as well with the right portable equipment.

Anyway to answer you question, I'd leave it as white. You can always use scrims to block the light if you want to reduce the reflected nature of the light. ofcourse that also applies vice versa. If you paint it black you would be able to use reflectors when needed and not have undue light spillage. Question is can you live with a darker color? Why don't you try out a few shoots there to see how it works for you and then change it if there is a need.

It's not too big a room, and I don't have anything else to do with it.It's actually an addition to the house. I'm not missing out on any living space. If I get the house, that is.
