When I wiped my computer a few months ago from a virus and had my buddy reinstall everything, he chose to have everything routed to the my c drive which is currently an 80gb Seagate iirc. I have another internal hd (750 gb WD) that I want to use as my main hd. How do I switch it so that it stops saving stuff on my c drive and instead saves onto my d drive? Please be gentle computer gurus haha :o

Your question is a bit ambiguous. You want to save your data on the D drive? Just select the D drive when you choose "save as" in your software. The default save location can't be set generally, it depends on the software you're using. It's possible to tell Windows to put your "my documents" folder on the D drive though, using TweakUI, I think.

If you want to move your operating system that's an entirely different thing. You'd use XXClone for that.

Hey,

It's easy. Just save all your documents in D drive. You can choose to set a default path which will ensure that your files are saved in D drive.

If you're running Windows 7, click on Start, then right click on "Documents", select properties, then you can change the default location of your documents. You can do the same for "Pictures", "Music", etc. I believe this is the same for Vista as well. So when you want to save a document, the new default location will be selected.
