Hmm, I really like that idea. I may give that a try, but with a fine paint brush. A toothpick might be a bit too uneven for larger scars.
I did not have a small paint brush.

That's pretty bad--but considering the age... I think I'd be more interested in the shutter count. I don't care how old it was, I'd never let one of my bodies reach that level of damage. The paint on the mag bodies don't just chip off--it's impact, scrape/scratch/abrasion related. I'd be upset too if I had to continually stare at it

I choose rustoleum for two very important reasons, one, rust protection even though I do not think they can rust, but it is tough paint, and two, I had some. : ) Thanks, Tom the Peregrineflier

Hmm, seems everyone likes flat black. I'll try a pen for some brassing on my filter ring and see how it looks...

Model paint should be able to match your body colour and not come in liter buckets. Or you can call the closest canon repair center. Lots of old stuff but hey I am a student

While I am not certain that canon techs won't keep body-paint handy, I can confirm that Canon Parts does NOT sell black paint--only the L-lens mix.

The black finish is not exactly the best in the world, I think its poor of Canon not to provide it for sale. Regards Ray
