Very interesting listing. They claim it's a match for the paint. Past feedback for the seller do not seem to indicate any dissatisfaction... I may give it a try

Please share a before/after photos if ever you'll try it.:)

My 1d mark II has a few brassing spots. I'm not too fond of bare metal--is there a particular matching paint you guys recommend? I'm looking for actual useful suggestions--none of the standard fare (oh no, better throw it away--or--it's battle damage, be proud).

I assume the black body paint they use is a match on ALL of the metal bodies Canon has recently manufactured?

ya but i though all canon cameras had a plastic housing/casing!once upon a time they did make cameras with a metal housing mostly brass i think, but to your question i have use the birchwood marker on firearms in the past and the stuff works, don't no about plastic though.

I did buy a bottle--but I doubt I'll be able to actually use it for about a month. Plus there's apparently a 30-day cure time, though the bare minimum is 1day. I'll do the before/after spot treatment when I have a chance :)

Well, all of the 1D series bodies are definitely full-magnesium frames. I think only parts of the x0D series are magnesium, though I seem to recall the 60D was something else entirely. All the lesser models are just plain plastic--white plastic underneath that paint.

Wasn't aware that the old canon slr's were made of brass. That predates me a bit :) My interest was only piqued around 2000.

i painted my canon 1d mark ii with testors model paint and it look like crap i took it off very easily with nail polish remover i would recommed if you have scraches and such you sould not cehap out and buy the canon camera body touch up paint off of ebay, because the paint on the camera is very hard to match and the canon made or recommended stuff is better
