These shots aren't magnificent by any stretch of the imagination, but about as good as I could do with my humble EF-S 55-250mm and a little post processing.

Thanks. I always have had trouble shooting at this particular airshow because the runways are north/south, the ramp is on the east side, and the sun is low and to the south in the morning and to the west in the afternoon. No good lighting at all unless anyone flies before 10AM. After that everything else is pretty much backlit.

you're doing good to get shots like that with a 50-250mm, my kit lens 70-300mm f/3.5-5.6 doesn't get good pictures like that at any airshow regardless of the time of day. I always get fuzzy grainy out of focus results.

Lighting is always bad at the show due to the configuration unless its cloudy like last year..makes it so much easier.. here is a couple

A little more PP and you can get the exp on the first few looking great!

Nice comps!
