These shots aren't magnificent by any stretch of the imagination, but about as good as I could do with my humble EF-S 55-250mm and a little post processing.

I always have had trouble shooting at this particular airshow because the runways are north/south, the ramp is on the east side, and the sun is low and to the south in the morning and to the west in the afternoon. No good lighting at all unless anyone flies before 10AM. After that everything else is pretty much backlit. Denton

gonedigital Member 130 posts Joined Sep 2010 More info | Nov 03, 2010 22:21 | #6 you're doing good to get shots like that with a 50-250mm, my kit lens 70-300mm f/3.5-5.6 doesn't get good pictures like that at any airshow regardless of the time of day. I always get fuzzy grainy out of focus results.
