I love to see these birds feeding on real flowers like this, Many of the shots really have a metering problem it looks like the white areas have no details on many shots. The light looks very harsh here, these birds normally return every 20 minutes to feed unless there are many more flowers around for them to feed on. Keep shooting and if the sun is the same next time set your ambient exposure compensation to minus - 2/3rds should keep the whites under control and also give you a faster shutter speed.

Apart from a few blown highlights, these are great shots! I absolutely love #5, and #4 is at an angle we don't see too often for hummingbirds (heck, birds in general!). Nicely done. (Also, keep Eric's suggestions in mind for next time...)

Excellent thanks. I was wondering what to do. They come around for about 2-3 minutes about every 15 to 20 minutes.

Thanks for all comments. They are my yearly challenge

Maybe no 2 might have whites a little blown out but 7 out of 8 ain't real bad . Nice work, I wish we had these lovely birds over here, EW.

Simply beautiful birds, love the sharpness. I like the last 4 the most but all are pretty good besides the blowouts (which aren't that bad). GJ, wonderful captures :)

Cheers Wayne :D
