Is it a performer in a studio, do any of you use it for that?

Just ordered one for walkabout stuff but interested to know if you use one.

Why wouldn't it work well in a studio?

I don't read much of it being used in a studio so just wondered who uses one for that.

If you don't have a problem using a crop in a studio; the 17-55 will likely not be your weakest link.

Until the 70-200, the 60D was my favorite lens, it is really sharp and has nice bokeh. But the 70-200 is so sharp that, since I got that, I am not using the 60 as much. I'm not giving it up though. On the other hand, if I didn't have it and was looking for a small prime right now and did not want macro, I might lean toward the 50 f/1.4 (which is a little cheaper), instead of the 60, for the extra stops

I am having my 24-70L repaired at the moment so really looking forward to playing with my new 17-55, if I need killer head shots though I will always go to my 70-200 f/4 non IS.

Its wider than I would prefer, but it'll work on a crop. Depends on what you are shooting.

Thanks that is exactly the info I was looking for.

I am selling my 28-135 and 55-250 soon

they are not going to be used since i got the 70-200
