Hey all,

You ever notice how on some L glass, like the 70-200mm series that the grips get all white-like? It's not that uncommon and it seems to have a residue or something on it. I'm getting a circa 2004 70-200mm f/4L and just wondered if anyone had any ideas to clean up the grips to like new and black.

Anyone else have experience with this??

Thanks!

Since it's rubber don't use anything with Alcohol to clean it. Have you tried warm water with a touch of Dawn Dish Soap? This should help clean the black rubber grips.

You mean like the rubber part picks up oil from fingers and the subsequently the dust around the house, the studio, out in the field type of "white-like residue"?

Probably due to wearing after extensive uses?
