Lightroom - cons to automatically applying lens correction profiles on import?

As the title says, just got LR3 and am thinking about going through all my images (only 8000), and adding camera/lens profile correction to them. And also adding it to my import preset so future images automatically have this applied.

Can you think of any disadvantages to this? I know it will reduce vignette, which I sometimes like (although I could probably set it to keep...) but that is minor. I am really wondering if there is any image quality being sacrificed by doing this, or any other disadvantages?

I do believe the max dimensions would be slightly less due to correcting distortion... anything else? How much help is the CA reduction?

CA is dependent on lens and F-stop and shooting conditions.

Vignetting reduction can increase noise.

another disadvantage: if when shooting you cut your crops close, the correction might force a tighter crop, especially for wider focal lengths.

regarding reduced quality / acuity: I honestly haven't really observed much of a difference. I shoot events and weddings and don't have it set to correct by default; I apply it on a case-by-case basis for photos that clearly benefit from it. Also--consider, if you haven't, setting the lens default with the vignetting bumped down to 85-ish.

Sometimes I use distortion to emphasize things, but this is the exception rather than the rule. Lots of times, distortion is the key to an impactful picture.
