Just a quick question(s!) - I don't have my manual to hand, and my card reader's at home. When I connect my 350D to my works PC via USB, I can't see my raw cr2 files if I use 'PC connection', although I do see the DCIM folders in explorer (empty). If I use 'Print/PTP' my camera flashes 'busy' all the time, although I can see all my cr2's, but not in the folder structure.
Is the 'busy' normal?
Why no cr2's with 'PC connection'?
Why no folder structure with 'Print/PTP'? (Is this something to do with a simplified structure for printer??)
As you can probably tell - I usually use a card reader :)
Cheers!

What software do you have on your work PC? Can it definatly open RAW files?

When I set the camera to 'PTP', I can see them (all in one 'directory') and copy them fine, and then open them fine in either M$ Raw Thumbnailer & viewer, or DPP as at home. I was wondering why I can't see them in 'PC Connection' mode.

ttt
anyone? :(
with card reader I copy across DCIM folder & subs - job done, with cable I have to manually recreate DCIM sub folders (e.g. 290CANON), select & copy the correct numbered image groups (e.g. _MG9001.cr2 - _MG9100.cr2)

cheers big ears :)
well I got the manual, but I can only find the attached page referring to the connections - and it doesn't give much away. It does say that the PC connection won't work if it's set to 'PTP/Print' - but it does, and that's the only way I can see my RAW files.
When set to 'PTP/Print' it appears as 'Canon EOS 350D DIGITAL' under 'My Computer', and under it is a list of the cr2 files. When set to 'PC Connection it appears as 'EOS Kiss_N REBEL_XT 350D' under 'My Computer', and under it are apparently empty folder (e.g. 290CANON, which contain the cr2's when viewed with a card reader).
