Oh, sorry about the date confusion.

I will post a lager version of that image, as the butterfly was quite ragged looking, with chunks of wing missing as if he had had the last bits of summer beaten out of him. That's what it said to me anyway.

Thanks!

If you saw a man drowning and you could either save him or photograph the event...what lens would you use?

yes, please post a larger one, i'd like to see the detail on the butterfly. :)

it's hard for me to shoot this (and I came up with the idea, D'OH!) because i live in the Bay Area of California and it always looks the same here. it's in the details where you can see the changes and i need to go out and find it. :)

Here is one taken in late August, Seaside Heights, NJ right where I live.... it is very representative of what the "natives" of my area see each clear night on the bay off the Atlantic Ocean. The bay looks into Toms River, NJ (my Hometown). Hope you like. 20D with 50MM f1.4. The actual image is a little bigger and was cropped a bit..... but in the spirit of things, I think you'll get the idea....

i'm sorry that i haven't been able to get any images up in this thread. i've been terribly busy, but more so than that, fall is *just* starting to arrive here, visually speaking that is.

so hopefully an image or two this week. thanks to everyone who participated thus far. :)
