Hello Potn.

On the highest focus point of my camera I would sometimes get a red dot flash on top of it making me think that theres a 10th one that appears at times. This happens when i have the camera select the focus point. I know Im sounding silly but worth a try here, other than that... Love the camera :)

thanks in advance!

Seems to me you actually got a copy of the 5D Mark 2.1?

The only additional points are hidden, supposedly around the center point and activated when set to AI-Servo. And they are there to "assist" and are not selectable.

I have a photo of my focus screen. See the top red dot? its a reflection of the focus point below it, i think since it only shows on that focus point.

Yes, it's a mirage of one of the other points. They occur sometimes, but you can't see them unless it's pretty dark around you, since they are rather faint.

thanks so much for your response. Yes I found that out myself and not worried anymore due to the fact that it does not affect the camera at all. Was just paranoid because it was a pretty hefty purchase for myself. I took the camera out for some night shooting and was impressed, so happy.

Cheeers!
