Critique is very welcome. I'm a long time lurker here so not a lot of you know me, but fire away, please, I can take it ;)

And unfortunately there's only 3 'cause I'm still not sure what the agreement is between me and the publisher :o I haven't been able to nail him down yet to get in-depth details.

First two are a band named Seasons After. Third one is of a local band named Lost Point who opened for SA, but were just a good (if you like metal, that is).

The place was a dungeon, so the lighting blows. I also think my editing is a bit dark and flat. They're the last shots I took with my 20D so I only had ISO 3200 to work with and I had to pop a little bit of flash to get a decent shutter speed. The crowd was only about 4 rows deep before it thinned and dropped to nothing. Everybody else was just hanging out or were camped at tables. So needless to say there weren't many crowd shots to be had.

That said, I think I came off the shelf OK, but want to get some honest 2nd opinions.

Thanks!

Great idea with the B&W. The subjects are well lit so your flash was a good idea. Did you strobe it or was it on camera flash?

It was an on camera flash. An old 430 EZ on 1/16 manual power. Just enough to bring up the shutter speed a bit.

Thanks. B&W was my best option because the lights were low and and close. I think in all 3 of those that pretty much the only color present was red.

Did I mention that this was a horrible place to shoot? I think the best part was that I could grab a bar stool and lug it around so that I could stand on the footrest to get that little boost above people's heads.
