I was driving home this evening and happened to have my camera in the car, so grabbed the opportunity to take this shot of the sun low in the sky over the mill pool at Battlesbridge.

I hope that this looks OK, as I edited it on my laptop.

That looks WAY better than "OK" to me! An outstanding shot IMHO, tho a purist might want you to "clean off' the power lines on the right in the background..:D

Beautiful. Opportunities like this are the reasons to keep your camera with you.

Excellent shot! Were any filters involved?

No filters were used.

I took two exposures, one for the sky and the other for the shadows. Theses were overlaid and I then painted through the top layer to bring detail into the shadow areas. As stated earlier, this was a quick edit on my laptop, as I haven't been able to get to my desktop machine since shooting this.

Exposure details quoted in the original post are for the sky exposure. Shadow shot was same settings other than shutter speed, which was 1/15sec.

Great image. It's good to have a camera with you at all times. Makes taking pictures a bit easier...
