I've been shooting a lot of sports and events and recently picked up PM for ingesting, keywording, and captioning. I do my editing in LR3 and would like to keep my photo database in LR.

My question is, how do I get the keywords and captioning done in PM to show up in LR?

Maybe my problem is that I first imported my files into LR then captioned them in PM. Would the correct metadata show up in LR if I ingested and captioned in PM first, then imported to LR?

Also, is it possible to give select photos a rating in one program (say PM), caption and keyword them (PM), then send them off to LR and keep those ratings? I'm thinking of this to make it easier to find the selected photos for editing.

Yes.
You can also do a "read metadata from file" in LR later. (That will loose you any editing done in LR!)
