Candor Goldmember More info | Nov 07, 2010 18:59 | #9 Looks like the eagle made short work of that catfish. I have found a couple of catfish heads at a location I've seen a few BE's in the past so I'm assuming they don't eat the head but I could be wrong. Ospreys seem to eat the head first. Great shots.

I was told by a local wildlife biologist that the head, gills, skin are the most nourishing part of a fish...Eagles tend to eat the heads first as well...at least the ones I photograph all the time.
