Is it possible that the price of this lens can go down further before rebate ends in jan because of holiday season.

i snagged one now just in case it goes back up. 2069 i paid, on it's way!

but i don't know the answer to your question, why chance it to save an additional 100 IF it decides to go back up 200 or 300 and not down.

Thanks. I know there is chance that the price can go up if demand is high even when rebates are there.

I have not watched Us prices before and have no idea about it.

I am visiting US in dec and was thinking of buying before I leave US.

$2069 is a deal. If you have money just buy it now. I think when the rebate period is over prices are going up because the dollard seems to steadily going down in value.

i don't regret at all to have bought it at full price when it just came out. With bing cashback i paid just over $2200 and i have used to for months already.

The item might be expensive but you will get a lot of usage out of it. What not good is buy something cheap, then not using at all.

I'm afraid vendors will raise the price when the holidays coming closer, or when there are other combo deals, Black Friday, etc...

Buydig raised their price $80.

This is the lens I am after, I shoot Ice hockey. Price in the UK is £1699 with £100 cashback which equates to about $2550. I could buy for this price in my local store, but is it worth getting it shipped from the US, would the warranty be valid ?

Its just due to the rebates. What does suck is I bought mine a month and a half ago for $2300 before the rebates came out! Stupid...

The summer rebate was $280 for this lens. This time it's $200 so it'll be less next time around :)

canon give international warranty on there lens so there should not be any problem. Make sure that you add any tax that UK gov may change when you get it online from US.

We in Australia has to be 10% GST if we buy it from overseas.
