Has anyone experience with Sennheiser microphone MKE 300? Any issues? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, don't know about that mic. I use a Rode on my 7D, and it works great. Don't know if it would work with a 5D, but it should.

I ended up deciding on a Röde Videomic Stereo for my 5D MK II - sorry.

From what I could find, it seems that the Röde (Mono) might be a bit better, but maybe not.
Opinion seems to be split on the sound quality - and build quality.

Thanks. Rode is a little bit expensive. I have opportunity to pick one (MKE300) in just $40.

Look at the Azden SMX-10 which runs about $65. Works great on my 5D II and 7D.

I have used this mike for years on my Canon video cameras. When everything went digital I bought the MKE 300D which was meant for digital, but I found no noticable difference between the two. I think they were great mikes in their day.

I still have one and use it on my 5D2 from time to time and it works fine.

If you need a photo of it on the camera let me know.

At that price as long as you are fine with Mono, maybe you should give it a go? :
In my cases prices were similar - and for my use stereo was beneficial.

Unless I am mistaken the overall reception on the web was quite positive.

A good way to find out about the sound quality is to dig up some youtube comparisons by the way ;):)
