First "corporate" shoot - what would you recommend?

I've been hired to shoot a President's Reception and Awards Ceremony. In the past, I've done such shoots for my employment but never as a 'hired' official.

For those who tend to do these type of corporate jobs, where lighting can be of question, what lens do you usually opt for? Note: images would focus mainly on awards and speakers at a podeum and the sort.

Thanks -

I would say a 2.8 longer zoom would be nice, perhaps a 70-200 2.8 IS on one body and a shorter one on another body 24-105 IS?

I can imagine that IS would be incredible useful in this situation.

Are you allowed to use a flash?

I would go with a 70-200 of any flavor. Not too far away and not too close, either, fr those 1/2 body, 2 person shots in landscape mode. Bounce the flash and you'll be fine. If no zoom than a 135L which is about the perfect focal length, I find.

All above on a FF.

On a crop... same 70-200 or an 85mm.

The more lenses (choices) you can bring, the better.

Don't frame tight.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

speakers at a podium would be easy, for shots inside a smaller room showing a projection screen and attendees you have to get creative with bounced flash
